January 2017 Sharing Time Ideas

Sharing Time Ideas from the 2017 Outline Encourage understanding (singing songs): Briefly discuss the following concepts, and then sing the corresponding songs with the children: •Before I came to earth I lived in heaven (“I Lived in Heaven” [CS, 4]). •I chose to come to earth and receive a body (“I Am a Child of God” [CS, 2–3]; “The Lord Gave Me a Temple” [CS, 153]). •I will be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (“When I Am Baptized” [CS, 103]; “The Holy Ghost” [CS, 105])…. January 2017 LDS Visiting Teaching Idea

I am so excited to share my January 2017 Visiting Teaching Printables and Idea with you today. I have been thinking about this month’s message, but didn’t have an idea of what to do. Today I read over the message again, and finally had the perfect idea. We have a huge snowstorm going on in Idaho right now, so big that they have cancelled church for us tomorrow. Before the snow showed up, I decided I’d better run to the grocery store and… Read more »

2017 Goal Planner

Are you ready to make some changes this year? With the help of my 2017 LDS Goal Planner Booklet, set some goals that will improve your life. Last year I shared my 2016 LDS Goal Booklet, and I was so happy to have so many of you ask if I was going to create a 2017 version. That must mean that you used my 2016 version and enjoyed it! Yay! Last year I had my booklet in my Etsy shop…. Read more »

Doctrine & Covenants Reading Cards

Last year I was released from the Primary Presidency and was called to teach the Valiant 8 & 9 year old class. When I knew that we would be released I really didn’t want to teach a Primary class, but one day (as I was probably praying that I wouldn’t get called to teach) I had a feeling, a thought, come to mind. It was kind of a ‘get over yourself’ type of feeling, but then the thought “If you don’t… Read more »

LDS Primary Ideas for 2017

Last week I was thinking about this year’s Primary Theme: Choose the Right, and what I could come up with to help the children ‘choose the right’ all year long. Last year I shared these Scripture Journals that the children could use to write down things they learned and to glue in the Scripture Hero cards that they received each month. This year I came up with something that I’m calling the CTR Jar. If you haven’t heard, each month The… Read more »

Agency is the Gift to Choose for Ourselves

Sharing Time Idea from the 2017 Outline Identify the doctrine (playing a guessing game): Tell the children that you are thinking of a word, and give them clues to help them guess the word. Ask them to raise their hands when they know the answer. Clues could include the following: We had this before we came to earth. It is a gift from our Heavenly Father. It is an important part of Heavenly Father’s plan for us. Satan wanted to take it… Read more »

Free Primary Planner Pages

I’m excited to share my 2017 Primary Presidency Planner Pages with all of you today! It’s taken longer than expected, but they’re finally finished. I have thought long and hard about whether I should add these sheets to my Etsy shop or keep them FREE. I know that some Wards don’t have much of a budget, so I have decided to keep my Primary Planner Pages FREE! I am so grateful for all of you, and for your kind comments. This… Read more »

Jesus Christ Will Someday Return to the Earth

Sharing Time Idea from the 2016 Outline Introduce the doctrine: Write each of the following phrases on small wordstrips: For the, Son of man, shall come, in the glory, of his Father. (Wordstrips are available at sharingtime.lds.org.) Display the wordstrips in random order on the board, and invite the children to help you unscramble them. (You may want to make a few sets of the wordstrips and let the children work together in groups.) When the children have put the phrases in the correct… Read more »

Christmas Service Activity

I would have to say that my favorite holiday is Christmas, and the reason I love it so much is not because of the wonderful music, or the delicious treats, but the spirit of giving that fills the air during this time of year. This last year, my family started delivering treats to friends and neighbors each Sunday afternoon. My children loved helping me bake up some delicious treats, and then choosing families to deliver them to. A few months… Read more »

Christmas Service Ideas

A couple months ago I was asked to come up with an idea for the upcoming #LIGHTtheWORLD Christmas Initiative for Mormon.org. I absolutely loved the theme, but I also knew how crazy busy the month of December can be, so I decided to create something easy, but that could also make a big impact on your family and those around you. After much thought, and talking with family members, I finally came up with my Christmas Service Cards. I really… Read more »
