Christmas Service Activity

I would have to say that my favorite holiday is Christmas, and the reason I love it so much is not because of the wonderful music, or the delicious treats, but the spirit of giving that fills the air during this time of year. This last year, my family started delivering treats to friends and neighbors each Sunday afternoon. My children loved helping me bake up some delicious treats, and then choosing families to deliver them to. A few months… Read more »

Each spring, Latter-day Saint women across the globe meet together to celebrate the founding of the Relief Society by the Prophet Joseph Smith on March 17, 1842. This year we celebrate the 174th anniversary of this amazing organization. Often we celebrate this special event by holding a ‘Relief Society Birthday Party’. The original idea is from Marci Coombs, found HERE. {If I’m ever called to YW, I will be so thankful I found her blog. Just sayin’.} She handed these handouts out with a little pedicure kit to her girls at girls camp. But as soon as I saw her handout… Read more »

Last Saturday we had a RS Activity. We decided we needed to have a VT activity to get the sisters excited about visiting teaching.   My Mother-in-law and I were talking and she brought up the idea of having a brunch. I loved it! As I thought about the brunch I began to think about flowers, and then I thought about comparing Visiting Teaching to flowers and seeds. I had my idea and I started to get excited about… Read more »

Some of you probably read on my Facebook page that our ward is putting together a cookbook (actually a Tri-Ward cookbook). To kick things off we decided to have a Meal Planning/Cookbook activity. We invited everyone to come and bring a yummy dessert or appetizer and lots of recipes to be included in the cookbook. We began the night with enjoying everyone’s delicious food. After we ate and mingled for a bit I told everyone about a fun giveaway for… Read more »
