The Mutual Theme for 2018 has been announced!  And today, I’m sharing a fun Peace in Me  Book of Mormon Reading Challenge that fits the theme perfectly. The 2018 Mutual Theme scripture is D&C 19:23: Learn of me, and listen to my words; walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall have peace in me.” For me, the announcement of the Mutual Theme is a little bit like… Read more »

Christmas Service Activity

I would have to say that my favorite holiday is Christmas, and the reason I love it so much is not because of the wonderful music, or the delicious treats, but the spirit of giving that fills the air during this time of year. This last year, my family started delivering treats to friends and neighbors each Sunday afternoon. My children loved helping me bake up some delicious treats, and then choosing families to deliver them to. A few months… Read more »

General Conference Quote Jar

A couple weeks ago I saw an idea for an ‘LDS General Conference Quote Jar’. I really liked the idea, and it was similar to another idea that I found a few years ago called ‘Conference Preserves’ that I shared about here. I LOVE the idea of writing/typing your favorite quotes and placing them in a jar to read over the next 6 months. Each day for the next six months, pull a quote from the jar and ponder what it teaches. Keep a journal… Read more »

Then we heard from a young woman who realized that she liked her brothers and sister a lot more than she thought because of the… Read more »

{Day 14} of our 40 Day Media Fast, and so far so good. I’ve had to break the ‘No Internet’ rule a couple of times, but other than that it’s going great. I have been reading the Ensign (all from this year) and studying the scriptures. I am surprised how many times I have read about media. It may not be a whole article devoted to the dangers of media, but little snippets here and there. It’s been wonderful and… Read more »

Last Monday my family, and other members of our ward, began a 40 day media fast. So, what is a media fast? Well, it is exactly what it sounds like….40 days with no Television, radio, internet, or video games.  My hubby is the Young Men’s president and a few months ago he had the idea of having a media fast. At first he thought maybe a couple weeks, but then one morning while studying his scriptures he read about Christ… Read more »
