How is it May already?!? I am excited though that summer is almost here, and for some exciting family events coming up. We have some great lakes near us, so the kids and I, and some other ladies, have a ‘lake day’ once a week during the summer.  If you’re ever in Idaho, feel free to join our weekly lake excursion. 🙂

My oldest daughter will be turning 8 next weekend! So at the end of the month we will be baptizing her, and enjoying some family time with cousins and family and friends. My oldest will also be playing summer league baseball this year. So, for the month of June we’ll be gone every Friday and Saturday to various baseball tournaments in Idaho. We’re really excited to do this, and make some fun summer memories as a family. Do you have any fun plans for the summer?

May 2016 Visiting Teaching Idea

This month’s Visiting Teaching message is a ‘choose your own’ type of thing. As Home and Visiting Teachers we are asked to select an address from the April 2016 General Conference Ensign that best meets the needs of those you visit.

I usually like to create a fun gift for the sisters we visit teach that will encourage them to read through the General Conference Addresses. Last General Conference I shared THIS fun and tasty idea. If you haven’t noticed, I like chocolate, so I figure everyone does too. 🙂 I decided to do something a little different this month though.

Today I am sharing my May 2016 Visiting Teaching idea & printable. It’s a quick and easy gift that you could give your sisters to help them study the April 2016 General Conference addresses. Enjoy!

May 206 Visiting Teaching

As I was thinking of ideas for Visiting Teaching this month, I was trying to decide on what the sisters would need and could use when studying this month’s Ensign. I figured people liked to ‘highlight’ favorite quotes and scriptures as they read through the General Conference addresses.

And if you’re like me, and have pen and marker stealing children in the house, then you could always use some new highlighters because you can never seem to find any when you are wanting to study! haha

{Our youngest LOVES markers…the other day she looked like the hulk because she took a green marker to her legs and arms.}

The lightbulb went off, and I knew exactly what to give to the amazing ladies I visit teach! I couldn’t just give plain ol’ highlighters to my sisters. So yesterday I took some time and created some cute little tags to go along with my highlighters.

May 2016 Visiting Teaching Idea

“What was the HIGHLIGHT of General Conference?”

When you go visiting teaching, you could share what the HIGHLIGHT of General Conference was for you, and then ask what they enjoyed most.

Then encourage them to use these General Conference Highlighters to Highlight their favorite quotes and scriptures as they study the addresses.

Along with the General Conference Highlighters, you could give them my 25 Weeks of General Conference Printable to help them study the talks. 🙂 And of course, you could also give them their very own copy of the May 2016 Ensign.

What do you like to do for the month’s we are asked to share a General Conference message? I hope you enjoy my May 2016 Visiting Teaching Idea, and are able to use them, whether for those you visit teach or for yourself. I’d love to hear if you do, so leave me a comment.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

      Hi Marilyn. Just click on the phrase that says, “Click HERE to print….”. Then the document should open, and you should be able to print. If you have any problems just let me know and I can email the file. 🙂
