It’s almost August, so that means it’s Primary Program time!

Last night I began working on our script for this year’s program (I’ll be sure to share once it’s done). But as I was sitting at my desk thinking about the program, a thought came to me.

How many times do you hand out parts only to find out that someone will be gone that week? It’s not a big deal, but I’m sure some children would hate to miss the program. Then the thought came to me…why not pass out some ‘Save the Date’ cards to let the parents know when it is, so that they can mark it in their calendars. We’ve known the date of our program for a couple months know, but the parents have no idea.

I decided I would create some.

This morning I was checking Facebook, and saw a new post on a Primary Presidency group I follow (You can join in on the group, HERE!)

Aย wonderful sister named Angela, was looking for some Primary Program Invites. She had used the beautiful binder covers from Courtney Aitken, HERE, and wanted invitations that matched the covers. Unfortunately her Etsy shop is closed for the moment. I left a comment letting Angela know that I would love to create an invite for her. Using Courtney’s binder cover as inspiration I was able to create these!

Here are the ‘Save the Date’ cards.

2015-Save-the-Date-Primary-

Simple! Just add the appropriate date and hand them out. Or slip them into the programs on Sunday…pass them around during Relief Society. Just get them out so everyone knows when the program will be.

And here are the invites! I have 2 options. One with ‘Primary 2015’ at the bottom and one without.

2015-Primary-Program-Invite

I really like how they turned out. What do you think?

Just add the appropriate date and place and you’re good to go.

I was able to fit 3 invites to a page. The invites were approx. 3.5″ X 6″.

The fonts that I used are (click on font name for link):

Champagne and Limousines

How to Edit

Need a little help figuring out how to edit my invites? I created a tutorial with step-by-step instructions how to do just that! Check out the Post, HERE!

Some people have had luck editing it in Paint, but people with Macs have had problems.

Hi Candice! To edit, just download and then open it in Microsoft Word, or a similar program. Re-size to your liking and then add a text box on top of the image and add your info. Send me an email if you have questions: littleldsideas(at)hotmail(sot)com. Thanks!

This is so cute! Thank you so much for being willing to share your talents!! For some reason it’s not letting me download the file (I’m trying to do the invitation with 2015 on the bottom). Maybe it’s my browser? I’m on a mac with safari. I even have a box account and everything and nothing happens when I press download. Any chance I could get you to email it to me? Thank you, thank you!!

Sorry about that Kellie. I may be out of bandwidth due to so many people downloading it. I emailed you the files and updated the links to a different site. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks!

Love your beautiful invites! Thanks for sharing. I would like to use for my program.
I was able to download, but as a jpg I cannot copy and paste to pages?
If you are able to email save the date cards and invites that would be wonderful.
    Thanks again.

You are amazing! Such talent, I’ll admit I am jealous. I have a question, and don’t even worry if you don’t have it, but the printer I use prints beautiful invites on both the front and back. Do you have a file with just the stripes I could use for the back side of the invite?

These are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your talents! I re-sized them at printed them as 4×6 photos at Walmart. They turned out fabulous and look really nice to share with friend and neighbors.

These are wonderful and love this idea!! Would you by any chance be willing to email me a version that I can change the wording? I’m in Mexico and need it to be in Spanish – but I’m not even close to creative enough to duplicate what you already have done for the background. No problem if you can’t, just thought I’d ask ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m having a hard time adding my info onto the Save the Date and the Invitation. Any tips? I’m not very computer savvy so from what I understand (and I could be completely wrong) I can’t edit it because it is in a jpg format on dropbox. Thanks for your help!

Thank you so much for your work on this. Even having the fonts is such a big help. I have no skill when it comes to that!

We would also like to encourage reverence by making postcards we can send to a child when we ‘catch them being reverent’ and inviting the Spirit during primary. Have you seen anything like that?

Again, thanks for your hard work and time.

Hi Meredith. I wasn’t sure how to share an editable file, so what you can do is download the JPEG and then open it in Word (or similar program). Re-size it to the size needed. Then open a text box over the image and type in your info. Then you can copy and paste more cards to fill up the sheet. If you have any questions just send me an email to: littleldsideas(at)hotmail(dot)com. Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

Is there any way you could create a similar flavor of comment cards? We have a stack of comment cards in a basket with pens by each door of the sacrament meeting room that the congregation can write their thoughts on. Then during Primary, we read them to the primary children so that they can hear how their hard work and testimonies affected the hearts of the members of the ward. It would be awesome if we could have something like this that matched the invites!

    Thank you!
