In just a few minutes I will be on Periscope discussing Elder Andersen’s talk, “Faith is Not by Chance, but by Choice.”
I enjoyed studying his talk this past week, and have thought of ways that I can strengthen my faith. In the very beginning of his talk he asked:
“How does the Savior see your Faith?”
I loved that question, and decided to create a little reminder for myself.
How is your faith? Is it growing stronger or weaker?
It’s easy to get distracted, and forget to strengthen our faith. In Elder Andersen’s talk he compared faith to a flame. Our faith starts out as a single, small flame, but can grow over time. I loved this comparison, and thought it would make a fun FHE.
You could light a match or a lighter, and show it to your family. Explain that our faith starts out small, just like this flame.
As you build the fire, talk about faith, and things that will strengthen our faith. You can even talk about how too much paper or oxygen will smother the flames. Sometimes we may choose things in life, but if we choose to do those things/activities too much, and instead of other important things, it can ‘smother’ our faith.
I hope you enjoy my printable, and can use it as a reminder as well. I would love to hear how you plan to strengthen your faith.
By the end our your lesson, you will have a big bonfire. Encourage your family to add things to their flame that will help create a bonfire, just like the one you’re sitting around.
As a snack…you can enjoy s’mores. YUM!
I hope you enjoy my printable, and put it somewhere it will remind you often.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
