Hi everyone! Yesterday a wonderful woman emailed me a great Sharing Time idea.
The idea she came up with is ‘Priesthood Punch.’ It is a Punch-a-Box sharing time idea. If you don’t know what that is, just read this post for details and instructions how to make your own.
And here is a picture of a Punch-A-Box.
LuAnn saw the Punch-a-Box on pinterest and decided to use it for her sharing time. Here is what LuAnne shared: “I will have 10 questions for my game. The 10 questions will go into 10 bowls (she used bowls for her punch-a-box). I am writing the word P-R-I-E-S-T-H-O-O-D onto the paper covering the bowls, one letter per bowl.
Then one at a time, a child will come up and get to put on a child size boxing glove (how cute! Love it). Then they will punch into the tissue paper taped over the bowl and pull out their question and read it out loud. Then the children are given the chance to answer, or get help from the rest of the primary, until we all have a great understanding of what the Priesthood is and the blessings that come from the Priesthood.”
Update: LuAnn emailed me with an update. She said she decided to put the different standards from ‘My Gospel Standards’ inside the bowls. And she changed the name to ‘Priesthood Preparation Punch’. Thanks LuAnn!
LuAnn’s updated version would be great for week 1. And then you could use her other idea for one of the other weeks.
What a great idea. I love using the Punch-A-Box, and so do the children. Thank you LuAnn for sharing your great idea with everyone.
Have a wonderful day!
