LDS Young Women General Conference Study Guide

Hi friends! It’s Marissa from Prickly Pear Design Co.  Just this past Sunday our Sacrament meeting featured several Young Women and their leaders as they shared their experiences with Girls Camp, Personal Progress, and serving in the Young Women program. I loved it! One of the leaders talked about the ways they’re studying the words of the living prophets and she mentioned that they study General Conference talks each week and have one of the girls share her favorite talk each… Read more »

In 2 weeks thousands of visitors will visit Salt Lake City, UT to attend the 187th Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Church members from around the world (and anyone who is interested to learn more) can watch this two-day event on TV, online or listen to it on the radio. Some choose to watch at the nearest church building that is broadcasting the conference. But, many people choose to travel to Salt Lake City to attend… Read more »

General Conference Study Sheets

I have this amazing friend, Danielle. Each week she is stuck in the car with me for 2 hours as we drive to and from our weekly ‘Gathering’ for Pathway (haven’t heard of Pathway, check it out HERE!). For two hours we talk about all kinds of things. A few weeks ago she shared something with me that her Religion teacher shared with her, and she told me I needed to make a printable. Her teacher had shared a great system… Read more »

April 2017 General Conference Study Guide

Just a few weeks ago we had the opportunity to be uplifted and edified as we listened to General Conference. For a few years now I have created a study guide that you can use to help you study the talks over the next 6 months, as we are instructed to do by our Prophet. Today I am finally sharing my April 2017 General Conference Study Guide! I also shared  some great note taking sheets that you could use as… Read more »

General Conference Game

I am always looking for new games to create to get my family excited about General Conference. While driving with a friend, she asked if I had ever thought about creating my own version of a very popular ‘mouth-piece’ game. I hadn’t, but I loved the idea! So I got to work and created this fun ‘Say What?!?’ General Conference Game. My family gave this a try and had a blast. Today I am sharing the printables so you can enjoy this… Read more »

General Conference I Spy Sheets

I don’t know how long ago I created my General Conference I Spy Sheets, but they’re a favorite in our home, and I know many of you request them each General Conference. I finally got around to making one small change for the upcoming April and October 2017 General Conference. So now you can print out these fun sheets for your children to use next weekend! . These General Conference I Spy Sheets are great for children who can read…. Read more »

Growing Up with Conference Book Review

General Conference is two weeks away! As a mother, I try to find activities to keep my children interested and busy throughout General Conference, but coming up with activities to keep little ones (or even big ones) busy and attentive can be a tough job. I was so excited when Emilee contacted me and asked if I would consider reviewing a book that her and her sisters had just finished, and I am so glad that I did because their… Read more »

March 2017 Week 2 Sharing Time Idea

Sharing Time Idea from the 2017 Outline Identify the doctrine: Write on the board, “The First Presidency and the Twelve Apostles are prophets.” Tell the children that in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we are led by the President of the Church, his two counselors in the First Presidency, and the Twelve Apostles. Explain that the First Presidency and the Twelve Apostles are prophets. Encourage application (playing a matching game): Gather pictures of six members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve, and write their names on separate pieces of paper. Put the papers and pictures facedown on the board. Have a child turn over a picture, and invite another child to turn over a piece of paper with a name on it. If the picture and name do not match, put them back in place and allow two other children to choose. If the papers match, whisper to the two children a gospel principle the leader taught in the most recent general conference (see the latest conference issue of the Ensign or Liahona), and have them act out a way they can live the principle. Invite the other children to guess what they are doing. . Sharing Time Ideas from Little LDS Ideas When I was coming up… Read more »
