Are you ready for 2019, and all the changes that come with it? I shared a great Young Women Monthly Calendar & Task Sheet a couple weeks ago (which I need to update with the changes) to help you get organized for the new year, did you see it? Today I am sharing some pretty 2019 Binder Covers, Poster, Theme Cards, and a gift idea. I hope you like what I shared.
We are planning on giving each of our Young Women a pop grip. I wanted to create something to attach to the pop grips, so I created these pretty theme cards.
The theme cards I created (pictured above) measure approximately 3″X5″, and would be great to handout at the beginning of the year or include in birthday bags. The Young Women can place them on their mirror at home, in their scriptures, or in their locker.
Cell phone pop grips are a great accessory for your cell phone, and they seem to be really popular with teenagers. I actually have one on my phone and have LOVED it. I didn’t think I would, but I am now a believer. 😉
I was excited how my graphic turned out after I created, but I love how the pop grips turned out even more.
If you think your Young Women would like their very own “Keep” cell phone grip, you can visit my Etsy Shop, HERE. Use coupon code NEWYEAR10 to receive 10% off your order until January 31st.
Young Women 2019 Printables
I decided that my Young Women Theme Cards would also make a great Binder Cover and 2019 Theme Poster, so I got to work and created some Young Women 2019 Printables for you.
I have included binder covers for the President, both counselors, and secretary. I also included a blank PDF for you to use if needed. If you have any problems feel free to comment or email me. I also created an 11X14″ poster that you can print and hang in your Young Women room.
While I was creating my printables, I surveyed some people to see what they thought. Some people thought that I should have the word “Love” in the center. I thought about what they said, but when I created the graphic for my pop grip I wanted the word “Keep” as the main focus. Here is why…
When I created my graphic I thought about each word, and I ended up looking up the word “keep”. One of the definitions for keep is: to continue or cause to continue in a specified condition, position, course, etc.
We are all on a journey back to our Heavenly Father. Many people see commandments as restricting, keeping us from fully enjoying life. I see so many youth under the impression that they’re missing out. When they feel this way they tend to leave the path and see what the world has to offer.
I wanted our Young Women to see the word “Keep” and remember the path that they’re on, the goal that they are trying to reach. I don’t want them to be distracted by the pressures of the world, so I chose “Keep” to help remind them to keep on the path, to keep the commandments, and to keep the faith. If they are strong, courageous and KEEP the commandments, they will receive those wonderful promised blessings from our Heavenly Father.
When discussing keeping the commandments, I often think of the talk from Elder Von G. Keetch, “Blessed and Happy Are Those Who Keep the Commandments of God”, and the story he shared of the surfers and sharks (which could be used for some great activities for 2019).
I loved this quote from his talk, “As we trust in the Lord, exercise our faith, obey His commandments, and follow the course He has charted for us, we become more the person the Lord wants us to become.”
I am excited for this year’s theme, and to help our Young Women learn the importance of keeping the commandments. To help them learn that they aren’t inconvenient or restricting, but rather they are there to keep us safe, bring us joy, and to lead us back to our Heavenly Father.
Are you excited for this year’s theme? Do you have any ideas planned to introduce the theme? I’d love to hear them, so be sure to leave me a comment or send me an email (email@example.com).
