{Primary} Priesthood Preview Invites

I’ve been busy creating my 2016 Primary Presidency Planner pages…but they’re not quite done. But I do have something cute & fun for you today.

In just a few months you’re going to be planning a Priesthood Preview for your ward. Why not have some cute invites to pass out. 🙂 I know President Uchtdorf just talked about ‘simplifying,’ but I just couldn’t help myself. And I started on these before that talk…so I’m in the clear. 🙂 haha

I love how the invites turned out. I found these adorable little ties on Etsy, HERE, from the AshleyLeigh shop. Aren’t they great!?!

Today I am sharing my cute little invites with all of you. But before the link, I wanted to share a step-by step tutorial on How to Edit your invites! Yay!

I had several people email me about my Primary Program Invites saying they were having trouble editing, so to make it a little easier, I went ahead and created a tutorial. Now…this still doesn’t help all you Mac users out there. Maybe you could all send a text message to my husband convincing him to buy me a Mac. 🙂 I really want one!

How to Edit Your Priesthood Preview Invites!

Before you begin, you better go get a snack and a nice cold drink because there’s 8 steps to this tutorial…you’ll be here awhile. Just kidding! It’s not that bad. But if you feel like a snack, go grab one. I’ll wait. 🙂

.

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE INVITE!

It’s time to download the invite. YAY!

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD MY PRIESTHOOD PREVIEW INVITES!

Now I know that it says to click the picture to edit…but it’s a lie! Don’t believe everything you read. 🙂 Up at the top you will see a blue button that says download. Click on it and then click on ‘Direct Download’.

.

STEP 2: OPEN THE FILE & COPY

Open the file once it has finished downloading. Then, right click on the invite, and select ‘copy’.

.

STEP 3: OPEN MICROSOFT WORD OR SIMILAR PROGRAM

Now, go open up Microsoft Word. Right click on the screen and select ‘PASTE’ or you can simply press the ‘CTRL’ & ‘V’ keys on your keyboard. This will paste the invite into Word.

STEP 4: BEGINNING TO EDIT

Change your margins, I usually change mine to 0.5″ for all sides. Then change the orientation of your paper to ‘Landscape’. This will help fit 2 invites to a page. Now, double click on your invite, the Picture Toolbar will/should show. Click on the ‘Wrap Text’ button and then select ‘Tight’. This will help you to move the image around easier.

.

STEP 5: OPEN A TEXT BOX & MORE EDITING

Re-size your invite to the size you would like. Then click on ‘Insert’ up on the Menu Bar. From there you will need to select ‘Text Box’. A drop down menu will appear, just click on ‘Simple Text Box’.

.

STEP 6: EDITING YOUR TEXT BOX

After you select your ‘simple text box,’ you will see it pop up at the top. But it will have an outline and a white filling. You don’t want either of those. So, here’s how to take care of that. First, click on ‘Shape Fill’. A drop down menu will appear with all kinds of color. Click on ‘No Fill’. You will do the same thing for the ‘Shape Outline’.

STEP 7: ADDING TEXT TO YOUR TEXT BOX!

Move your text box to where you would like the text. Click inside the box and start typing your info! The font I used for my invites is called: Champagne & Limousines, FOUND HERE. I did a larger font (size 22) for the date, time, and place, and then had ‘AT’ and ‘City’ in a smaller font (size 10 or 11, I think). But depending on the size you choose for your invite, it may differ a little. Just type it up, and then re-size it if needed.

(I left the outline on on my text box so you could see it better, just an FYI)

STEP 8: LAST STEP!

Now that you have your info all typed in and looking pretty, it’s now time to copy and paste to make another invite. Once you have 2 (or 4) invites on the page, and everything is aligned just how you want it…you can PRINT!

I would print on a thick cardstock to make them look really nice. Or you can have them printed at a professional printing place.

I hope you enjoy and are able to use my Priesthood Preview invites. If you have any questions just send me an email to littleldsideas(at)hotmail(dot)com or click on the ‘CONTACT’ tab at the top and leave me a message.

I would love to hear if you use my invites, and if my tutorial helped at all. If you love my invites I would love for you to share this post with others.

.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
